Upcoming volunteer needs:
- We need your help at Pumpkinfest! This fun family event is on October 10, with a rain date of October 11. Volunteer jobs include facepainting, overseeing pumpkin bowling, raffle sales, helping with other games and activities, and set-up and clean-up. Email Kim to sign up for a 4-hour shift.
Here’s what’s new in the volunteer department:
- Last month we wrapped up Summer Nature Camp with a record number of campers! It wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our Youth Program Leaders, volunteers ages 14+ who donated 3583.5 hours of their time this summer!
- Individual and group volunteers have contributed 11,395.5 hours so far in 2015!
- Irvine welcomed 7 new Volunteer Naturalists and 4 new Naturalist Interns at our fall training. They are now all prepared to lead fun school field trips, including Decomposition Detectives and Sensing Nature!
