Put Stock in Nature

Donating stocks or mutual funds to Irvine Nature Center is a smart and simple way to help protect the natural world.

You can make a gift of appreciated securities—publicly traded stocks, bonds and mutual fund shares—to Irvine while avoiding capital gains tax, diversifying your portfolio and/or securing a stream of income. It’s a simple and efficient way to give.

You transfer appreciated securities to Irvine Nature Center.
Irvine Nature Center sells the securities and uses the proceeds to fund its environmental education programs.

Please notify Irvine of your intent to make a gift of stock so we can thank you. We cannot identify the donor of a stock gift unless we are directly notified by you or your financial agent.

CELEBRATION GIVING

Celebrate life’s happiest moments with a donation to Irvine. We’d love to work with you to set up a birthday or anniversary fundraiser for you or your loved one. If you prefer, you can set up your own fundraiser using Facebook’s platform.

Give online now and check the honor box. Our team can set up a personalized giving page on our website for the person you’re celebrating.

To create a Facebook fundraiser for Irvine, follow these steps:
Click Fundraisers in the left menu of your News Feed.
Click Raise Money.
Select Nonprofit or Charity.
Select Irvine Nature Center, choose a cover photo, and fill in the fundraiser details.
Click Create.

TRIBUTE/MEMORIAL GIVING

Name a Tree. Irvine has identified a limited number of mature trees that may be designated as Tribute Trees for a gift of $2,000. A special plaque will be engraved with the common name of the tree, the tree’s Latin name, the individual to whom the tree is dedicated, and a short tribute from the donor. Most of the Tribute Trees will be located along the driveway, parking lot or Amphitheatre.

Dedicate a bench. Donors may select a beautiful teak bench and engraved plaque for $5,000. We will help you find the best spot on our 210 acres.

Dedicate a bluebird house. Irvine’s many bluebird houses play an important role in contributing to science. For $250 personalize your own bluebird house, and we will add to the Cornelia Levering Bluebird Trail or Bauer Preserve.

Give online now and check the honor/ memorial box. We will notify whoever you specify with a special card from Irvine.
