Growing Green with Sinclair Lane

January 27, 2017 - Urban Education

Irvine Nature Center has chosen it’s next Growing Green Leader partner. In the next year and a half, Irvine will be working with Sinclair Lane Elementary school to help it become a Green school.

In the spring of this year, we will plan Nature in the Classroom visits to each grade.  We will be meeting with the Green Club twice a month the entirety of the program.  Irvine will be meeting with faculty and staff of Sinclair Lane to go over the Green School application and decide the best course of action. In the spring we will fix up their outdoor classroom and build raised garden beds!

In the fall and winter, Sinclair Lane Elementary will receive regular classroom visits from Irvine Nature Center and the Green School application will have started. Then, in the spring and summer, Green Club will have a camp-out at Irvine! We will also be working on another Best Management Practice with help from the green club!

Sinclair Lane Elementary will use green practices to become a sustainable school. All while promoting environmentally friendly behaviors to the kids! Irvine Nature Center is looking forward to working with this new Growing Green Leader partner.
