
Enjoy the joy of foraged foods at Irvine. We will take a foraging hike to learn how to safely identify and harvest plants and then enjoy some foraged tree tea and cookies as we discover how to process foraged nuts, acorns and berries. Then each participant will make a batch of acorn cookies with optional add-ins including black walnuts and spicebush. Each participant takes home a batch of cookie dough to bake at home. Ideal for adults.
Program will include tree nuts. If you wish to make gluten free cookies please email me (walkerc@explorenature.org) in advance and bring your favorite 1 for 1 flour alternative to the program (approximately 1 cup).
