Nature Centers and other land owners have a responsibility to steward the land they own. Whether it is forests, wetlands, meadows, or even gardens, solid land management practices are crucial to ensuring ecosystems are protected forever. Learn how Irvine determines and implements best management practices for conserving and enhancing our land, and what you can do at home. From wetland restoration projects, to tree plantings, and controlled burns, explore how Irvine is stewarding the land to preserve it for future generations of nature explorers.

Kyle Gillen is a born and raised Marylander who grew up exploring the watersheds in Frederick MD. He graduated from UMD with a bachelors in Environmental Science. Since then he has worked for the National Park Service, Maryland DNR, before ending up at Irvine. Kyle has been working at Irvine for the past 5 years.
