Make and Take: Gourd Bowl with Decorative Trim or Lid

November 14 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
$50

Celebrate the fall season by creating a gorgeous gourd bowl that will last for years.  Gourds were turned into useful containers, musical instruments and beautiful objects by native people.  In this class you will choose a gourd from a wide variety of shapes to turn into a beautifully decorated bowl. Explore how to shape the rim, clean, and then select a pine needle, braided or sewn rim to decorate. The gourds can also be turned into a container by reattaching the lid and decorated with a wood burned design. Please note that gourds require some hand strength to open with a 1 inch saw. Ideal for adults.
