Campfires Under Starry Skies

The Nature Preschool continued our exploration of night this week! We focused on campfires, fire safety and the night sky! The classrooms were decorated with campfire rings, tents and glowing stars! Have you ever been camping? What kinds of things do you do around a campfire? We practiced our storytelling skills and learned some new campfire songs!

In preparation for our night hike, the children made lanterns to guide us through the dark! We also painted fire sticks that make boundaries around our campfire to keep us safe! We are so excited to meet under the stars to celebrate the night! Our animal instincts will take over as our eyes adjust to the dark and we explore the trails! The children and families are ready to snack around the campfire and sing a tune to the moon!

-Mr. Danny’s visit to the preschool classrooms – Thank you!
-Roasting pretend marshmallows in our dramatic play campfire area
-Writing letters at the campfire circle with charcoal
-Reading and telling stories with flashlights in the dark
