Build your fire skills, whittle, or just enjoy sitting around a fire and chatting. Join Naturalist Clare at our fire pit to practice fire skills such as using a friction fire kit, flint and steel or ferro rod. Try splitting wood with a baton or bring a knife to practice your wood carving. Drop in anytime for some fire fun in a relaxing atmosphere.
Free program, included in the cost of admission. No registration required.

Note: The Bauer Road fire pit is located off the entrance driveway. Park in the lot as directed, walk behind the building and look for smoke to the right of the outdoor classroom. Program will be canceled in the event of rain or icy conditions.
