Environmental Educator and Animal Care Coordinator

(FULL-TIME)

Part of Irvine’s Education team, this individual is responsible for assisting with the care and maintenance of our extensive live animal collection and leading environmental education programs for all ages, especially school-age groups.

This position requires experience handling a wide variety of animals, providing care and enrichment. The environmental educator will create and lead programs for school-age groups and the general public. Candidates must have a desire to work with children as much as with animals.

AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR

(PART-TIME)

Part of Irvine’s environmental education programming occurs off-premise at area schools. The Eco-Explorers After-School Nature Club operates in the afternoon at elementary schools in the region. We are currently seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and organized individual to prepare for and lead hands-on, outdoor environmental education for after-school programs, with elementary aged children.  This position will be responsible for the supervision of program volunteers and interns.

CAMP COUNSELOR - SUMMER NATURE CAMP

(FULL AND PART-TIME)

Part of Irvine’s Summer Nature Camp team, the summer camp counselors lead groups of campers throughout Irvine’s 211 acres in exploration, crafts, and games. Camp Counselors should be passionate about connecting children with nature. Counselors are responsible for the direct supervision of campers ranging in age from 3 to 12 years old.

AFTERCARE LEADER - SUMMER NATURE CAMP

(PART-TIME)

Part of Irvine’s Summer Nature Camp team, the after-care leader will oversee activities and games related to natural history. After-care leaders are responsible for the direct supervision of campers ranging in age from 5 to 12 years old.
