The Nature Preschool at Irvine is a MSDE licensed and NAEYC accredited childcare program for children 3-5 years old that spends at least 75% of each day outdoors learning foundational skills through hands-on experiences. Irvine is also home to Earth Friends Outdoors, a homeschool program for children 4.5-12 years old. Part of Earth Friends, Forest Explorers is an exclusively outdoors forest school program for children 4.5-7 years old. NATURE PRESCHOOL EDUCATOR (FULL + PART TIME)

We are currently hiring a full time and part time educator to join our Early Childhood Education team. These teachers will both co-lead two Nature Preschool classes on alternating schedules during the school week. They will facilitate mainly outdoor classes that nurture a child’s close relationship with the natural world through developmentally appropriate play, trail walks and games, stories, animal encounters, song, and art. A love of nature, a comfort with mud, and a nurturing spirit are musts! The ECE teacher will create class
communities in which students feel safe to be themselves, take risks, and develop skills at their own pace.

FOREST EXPLORERS AND NATURE PRESCHOOL AFTERCARE (PART TIME)

We are currently hiring a new educator to join our Early Childhood Education team in a blended part-time position teaching in both The Nature Preschool and Forest Explorers. The ECE teacher will co-teach our Fern Club AfterCare five days a week and co-teach one morning of Forest Explorers. With their co-teacher, the ECE teacher will facilitate mainly outdoor classes that nurture a child’s close relationship with the natural world through developmentally appropriate play, trail walks and games, stories, animal encounters, song, and art. A love of nature, a comfort with mud, and a nurturing spirit are musts! The ECE teacher will create class communities in which students feel safe to be themselves, take risks, and develop skills at their own pace.
