Day Off Camp
DAY OFF CAMPS AT IRVINE
Irvine Nature Center’s Day Off Camps are a great option for working families. Drop your child off with Irvine’s award-winning Environmental Educators for a day of exploration and outdoor fun! Your child will meet animal friends, perform science experiments, create nature crafts, and more while you’re at work getting the job done.
Ages: 5 – 10 years old (Age as of September 1, 2019)
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.*
Price: $75 per day ($85 for non-members)*
*Aftercare until 6:00 p.m. is available for an additional $20 per day.

Nov. 22, 2019 – Forest Foragers
What kinds of food can you find in the forest? Naturalists teach foraging basics and help kids cook up some fun.
Dec. 23, 2019 – Weird Science
Slimy, gooey, and gross? We love it! A day of hands-on science projects designed with kids in mind.
Dec. 26, 2019 – Creative Creatures
Animals and art? It’s a winning combination! Kids meet Irvine’s Animal Ambassadors and draw what they see.
Dec. 27, 2019 – What’s Cooking?
It’s easy to create delicious treats — all you need is a campfire! Kids make tasty snacks with the help of Irvine’s educators.
Dec. 30, 2019 – Who’s in the Forest?
The winter forest is quiet — where are all the animals? Kids learn about the animals in the forest and how they spend their winter.
Jan. 20, 2020 – Nature’s Engineers
Beavers, birds, and bugs are incredible engineers. Kids explore how animals construct their homes and get some building time of their own.
Feb. 17, 2020 – Tree Tappin’
Our region’s maple trees are ready to be tapped. Kids see the process firsthand and make their own syrup.

Apr. 6, 2020 – Bugs, Bugs, Bugs
Do you have a budding entomologist at your house? Send them to Irvine to learn more about their favorite bugs.
Apr. 7, 2020 – Raging Reptiles
Kids meet Irvine’s resident reptiles and learn more about the species they can find in the wild.
Apr. 8, 2020 – Scales and Tails
Our waterways are home to incredible creatures. Kids discover the scales and tails that can be found at Irvine and beyond.
Apr. 9, 2020 – Feathered Friends
It’s baby bird season! Kids learn about migratory birds and how they take care of their new babies.
Apr. 10, 2020 – Maryland’s Mammals
There’s something about soft fur and sweet eyes that humans of all ages respond to. Kids will meet Irvine’s opossum and hedgehog and learn all about our native mammals.
Apr. 13, 2020 – Animal Caretakers
Future veterinarians, this camp is for you! Join Irvine’s Animal Care team for the day and learn what it takes to keep our animals happy.
