November 30, 2012 - Preschool Weekly

This Week’s Adventures: Music is all around! We listened to and created all kinds of wonderful music!

Favorite Activities: We loved making instruments like tambourines and kazoos from recycled materials. We also enjoyed performing with Miss Jen thanks to her sharing an oboe, Tibetan singing bowl, and mandolin. We made joyful sounds by clapping and singing, too! We also celebrated music by dancing and painting in response to songs we heard or sang. We explored ways animals make musical sounds, like our Cedar Waxwing that visited with Miss Laura. We listened for musical sounds on our trail walk and found natural objects to make our own music outside. Letter “Xx” is no stranger now that we created xylophones in our nature alphabet books. What a music-filled week we had!

Next’s Week’s Theme: One World, Many Languages (“Ww”)

Try this at home: Search the kitchen cabinets for all kinds of percussion instruments. Do a performance for your family!
