Volunteer Naturalists
Volunteer naturalists are needed to lead walks this fall for children in Pre-K through 5th grades.  Share your love of nature with young children while gaining leadership and instructional skills and improving your natural history knowledge. Let us train you to lead environmental educational walks for local school groups. For upcoming training dates, click here.

Schoolyard Discovery: Urban Education Program
The  Schoolyard Discovery urban education program is recruiting interested volunteers to help train high school students in hands-on nature activities and prepare them to teach the activities to elementary students, and to help install habitat gardens on elementary school grounds.  Activities are conducted on Baltimore City school grounds during the school day. Summer Fellowship Program: Urban Education Program
Irvine Nature Center needs your help for our Summer Fellowship Program. Make a difference in the life of a child!  Help Irvine teach outdoor nature activities to elementary age students at recreation centers in Baltimore City.

Animal Caretaker
Our animals are fascinating and require a lot of care.  We are looking for high school students or adults who can spend three hours per day feeding, cleaning, and maintaining habitat for our precious critters.  Volunteer hours count toward student service requirements. All training is provided.

Lawn Maintenance
Volunteers are needed each week to help us maintain our beautiful grounds.  A riding tractor is provided, as well as all other lawn tools needed.  Community service hours are honored. This is a perfect opportunity for students after school and on weekends.

Gardeners
Irvine’s garden is seeking volunteers to water, weed, and maintain its appearance each week.  This is a great opportunity for a young family or an avid gardener.

Fairs
Please consider joining our Community Fairs Committee.  Volunteers are needed to represent Irvine at local community fairs and festivals. Please contact Carin if you are able to spend a morning or afternoon at a community organization and represent Irvine. Dates forthcoming. 

Packing Volunteers
Irvine staff members are beginning to get prepared for the move to the new site and would greatly appreciate extra help.  Please contact Carin if you are interested in helping our staff begin the packing process.
