At Irvine, we recognize our volunteers as one of our greatest assets, and are proud that we have a very informed volunteer base. Along with basic orientation and one-on-one training for specific jobs, our education staff host program-specific trainings each spring and fall.
 
Upcoming training programs include: 
 
Maple Sugaring Volunteer Training Course
January 29 & 31, 2008
9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Learn to lead Maple Sugaring walks for children 4 years old through 5th grade. Training will cover the maple sugaring process, tree identification, seasonal change and local ecology, as well as teaching tips and techniques. Join us for this sweet and time-honored tradition.

Schoolyard Discovery: Volunteer Orientation
February 25, 27 & 29, 2008
1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Share what you know. Become a mentor. Volunteers are needed to train high school students in Baltimore City to teach elementary students third grade environmental education lessons and to help students install gardens on their grounds.
