We thank our volunteers for all of their hard work at various times throughout the year, including at some special volunteer-only events (such as the pancake breakfast at the end of maple sugaring season).

Each quarter one outstanding volunteer is recognized in our newsletter, Understory, as the focus of our Volunteer Spotlight. This article, read by all 1,500 Irvine members, not only gives us a chance to celebrate our volunteers, it also helps to build stronger bonds within the Irvine family as we get to know each other better.

Beginning in 2003 Irvine instituted the annual Jeanne Baetjer Volunteer Award, which pays tribute to a dedicated Irvine volunteer who embodies an outstanding commitment and whose contributions to the life of the Center stand as an exceptional example of the work of all our volunteers.
