Irvine Nature Center Hosts PumpkinFest

OWINGS MILLS, MD (October 6, 2008) - Irvine Nature Center will host PumpkinFest, a family harvest festival, on Saturday October, 18th at its new location at 11201 Garrison Forest Road in Owings Mills, MD.  The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (The rain date is Sunday, October 19th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)  Parking is $15 per car.

Harvest festival revelers will enjoy a mixture of paid and free activities, including: pony rides, hay rides, face painting, scarecrow making and more.  Kiddie entertainment will be provided by Fiddlesticks, an acoustic duo, and festival food will be available for purchase.

“PumkinFest is another opportunity for families to come out to Irvine Nature Center to explore the outdoors during one of the most beautiful seasons for nature exploration during the calendar year – fall,” said Irvine Executive Director, Peggy F. O’Neill.

Irvine Nature Center is located on 116 acres of woodlands, wetlands and meadows in the breathtaking Caves Valley.  Open year round, the center offers many opportunities for children and families to explore nature, including special events like PumpkinFest, public programs, “green” birthday parties, summer nature camps, field trips and its interactive natural history museum.  For more information go to: www.ExploreNature.org.
