Spring Celebrations

April 17, 2016 - Preschool, Preschool Weekly

Nature Preschool celebrated The Week of the Young Child! Each day had its own unique theme: Music Monday, Taco Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday, Throwback Thursday and Freestyle Friday! Out on the trails we saw blooming flowers, butterflies and sunny spring skies! We ended our week long celebration in song at our annual Spring Sing. Friday evening families and teachers came around the campfire to sing under the stars!

Some of our favorite moments this week:
-The children were excited for Emotion Coaching with Mr. Danny. They learned about empathy!
-The Coyote class came across what we think to be Coyote pups in the woods! Our naturalists set up a camera and we will post updates!
-The Bears made instruments with recycled materials. They sang songs down the trails as they hiked to the meadow and the stream!
-The Chipmunks enjoyed visiting a spot they named, “Skunk Cabbage Valley!” They used sticks to make musical beats and used tools to explore the stream.
-The Flying Squirrels enjoyed playing musical chairs! They cheered on for their friends and happily handed out stickers out to those who lost their seat.
-The Foxes hiked to a pond and found tadpoles! They closely observed them in recycled plastic containers. The children are excited to visit again and check their progress.
-The Rabbits enjoyed painting a music mural together! They listened to music and painted to the rhythm! They all worked together to cook a tasty taco feast for snack!

We look forward to celebrating more on Earth Day! Until then, check out all the we fun we had last week in our galleries below.
