This program is ON! The skies are looking great. Please plan to arrive between sunset and dusk.
The most amazing thing you see all week just might be through a telescope. Bring your friends and family to Irvine to explore and learn about the past, present and future of our night sky, and how it might be changed forever if we don't care to preserve it. Join hobby astronomer Alex Gorstan on Thursday (weather permitting) at Irvine for stories, brief lessons and observation. Meet to the left of the building on the patio around the telescope. Feel free to bring your own telescope or binoculars as well!
If skies are cloudy, the program may be rescheduled. Check Irvine's homepage for updates the day of the program.
This month: Count the moons of Jupiter, watch stars being born in the great nebula of Orion, follow passing satellites, or draw your own map of our heavenly neighbor -- the moon. |
