The most amazing thing you see all week just might be through a telescope. Bring your friends and family to Irvine to explore and learn about the past, present and future of our night sky, and how it might be changed forever if we don't care to preserve it. Join hobby astronomer Alex Gorstan on Thursday (weather permitting) at Irvine for stories, brief lessons and observation. Meet to the left of the building on the patio around the telescope. Feel free to bring your own telescope or binoculars as well!

This month: Count the moons of Jupiter, watch stars being born in the great nebula of Orion, follow passing satellites, or draw your own map of our heavenly neighbor -- the moon.
